NorthHaus Retreats started with a shared love of travel, cottage country and the simple moments that make a getaway memorable.
As a family, we wanted to create the kind of place we would be excited to discover ourselves — somewhere surrounded by nature, comfortable enough to truly settle into, and thoughtfully prepared so guests can focus on what matters most: time together.
That vision led us to the Bancroft area and eventually to the shores of LakeHaus40, the first property in the NorthHaus Retreats collection.
What began as one lake house is the beginning of something bigger. Our goal is to create a collection of distinctive Ontario retreats, each with its own character but connected by the same NorthHaus philosophy: beautiful surroundings, thoughtful comfort and genuine hospitality.

NorthHaus Retreats is a family-owned hospitality company created by Ivan and Maryrose, a husband-and-wife team with a shared love of travel, nature and creating welcoming spaces for others.
As parents, we know that the best getaways aren’t always about elaborate plans. They’re often the simple moments — morning coffee overlooking the water, watching the kids play outside, sharing a meal, paddling the lake or gathering around the fire at the end of the day.
